A Fly Can't Bird......
Some people I'm talking with today feel an overwhelm of "input"....expectations. Comparisons.
The result can be frustration, or feelings of "not good enough". It is so easy to have that happen in our world of social media connectivity, even though we know that most people are not sharing a true picture of their lives. And these feelings can lead to feeling stuck, disempowered to move forward.
"A Fly Can't Bird, But a Bird Can Fly" (The Tao of Pooh)
In recognizing our inner nature, what's really there, even our limitations, we can learn to work with them, rather than having them get in our way and work against us.
Of course no two people are the same...wouldn't that make a boring world?
So recognizing what works best for us can give us the confidence to take the next steps in the direction we want to go. One way I'm learning to "find" that more clearly for myself is in the practice of listening.
Sunia........listen!
This Sanskrit word represents the Buddhist concept of emptiness, or Ku. In yoga, we speak of it as the art of listening. For me, I understand it as making space to think, to really hear. If I'm trying to work with an Asana, or pose in yoga, I need to feel and listen to what my body is telling me. If I'm looking to make a change or a decision in my life, this same practice helps me do so.
Getting quiet, listening....those are the times when clarity is invited in.
Do you find this to be true?
It's hard to do in this busy, bustling world we live in.
The beautiful thing about the coaching relationships I'm privileged to have is that in these sacred spaces we dedicate to truly listening, an awareness always happens. The best direction becomes more clear and the confidence to move forward is palpable, once we are able to quiet the noise.
What are some practices to help find this ability to listen?
Breath-work
Quiet Walking
Meditation
Yoga
What are your go-to practices?
I'd love to know your thoughts on this~ hit reply and share if you're so inclined. And if you or someone you know are contemplating coaching, I invite you to a no-obligation conversation call with me. It all starts with an idea!
